The Closers

Holly and I have been renting and living in apartments since we've been married. From time to time we would look at homes for sale or lease just to see what is out there. We've been wanting to move into a bigger space and have a yard (4th floor with Rex is not fun, and our neighbors below just recently complained because Rex's running around in circles apparently sounds like "thunder and lightening"). But we never had a plan when we were looking. We didn't really have a good idea of our budget and we didn't know exactly where we would want to "settle down" for a few years. Our lease comes up at the end of May at our apartment, and first we must say that this place has been great! We decided in March that this was the time to really start getting serious about what our next move would be. We both decided that we were ready to buy a house, but where? We needed an area that had a good school, friendly neighbors, home values that were consistent and reasonable, and a place centrally located between where we work. We decided the place that really fit us was Coppell!! So in March we started looking at houses in Coppell with a realtor from Ebby Halliday.

After the first weekend of looking at homes Holly and I felt really good about one particular house. The next weekend we went back to that house and also looked at a few others. But by the end of the day we decided that we wanted to make an offer on that house. Some people might question our quick decision, but we both knew this is the house we want to live in! In less than a week we had agreed to terms with the sellers, scheduled an inspection and started working on the loan application!!! This Wednesday April 27th we went to the title company and closed on the house!!!!! We are homeowners!!! We won't move in till the end of May. Until then the sellers will be renting back from us for the month of May.
