This holiday season has come and gone so quickly it's hard to believe it's already a new year. This past week we have been trying to recover from late nights and the excitement from Christmas. Trent was actually sick this week and hardly made it into work at all. With Trent home sick and me being on winter vacation, we have both been doing lots of reading (Trent is currently reading Ayn Rand's Atlas Srugged, and I have been reading Kathryn Stockett's The Help). When the topic of New Years Eve was brought up we both just looked at each other with blank stares. We both wanted to do something low key, something that would be relaxing but enjoyable. That's when we got the idea to go up on the roof, watch the sun set, eat sushi, drink champagne and read. It really was the most perfect evening and the most perfect way to end a wonderful year. After a few hours of eating and snuggling under the blanket talking we decided to head back downstairs and climb into bed and read together (I realize this might seem lame to some of you!).
We took the old bedding from the guest room, pillows, sushi, cookie cake, champagne, candles, and our books to the roof. We set up a comfortable place where we could just sit and be together. Luckily there was a wall that blocked some of the cold wind.

Sushi!! I think during 2010 we both came to love sushi even more than we had before! Its seems like we can't get enough of it these days.

As the sun set on the year 2010 we thought of 10 things we loved about this past year.
1. Rex joining our family
2. Our fun-filled trip to Italy
3. My new job teaching kindergarten
4. Competing in our first triathlons
5. Celebrating our first anniversary
6. The Texas Rangers making it to the World Series
7. Becoming an aunt and uncle
8. Joining our Sunday school class and meeting lifelong friends
9. Experiencing OU's victory over Nebraska at the last Big XII Championship
10. Tubing and playing in the most snow this area has seen in years
